We rely totally on donations and help from YOU, and you can help us in all sorts of ways.

Volunteer

DARG is always grateful for new volunteers – whether you would like to assist at the adoption centre with  dog walking, feeding and cleaning, or whether you could offer your help at one of our fundraising  events.  Simply phone DARG on 021 790 0383/2050, call Joy Giovanini directly on 083 770 6814, or pop into the DARG Hout Bay Centre at Main Road, Hout Bay and have a chat with us about how you can help.

Make a donation

There are a number of ways in which you could make a donation to DARG:

  • If you have telephone banking you can phone your bank to make a direct payment to DARG using the account details below.
  • If you have on-line banking you can make a transfer directly from your bank account to DARG’s via the internet.
  • If you do not have access to either of the above you can simply go into the nearest Standard Bank and make your deposit via a teller.
  • You could also visit the adoption centre on Main Road, Hout Bay, where we can take your cash donation and give you a tour.

Advertise on DARG’s front page!

The DARG website gets a lot of traffic from locals, making it an ideal place to put a sponsored link to your company.

We sell small full-colour sidebar banner advertisements on our front page for R250 per month. This is considered a sponsorship, and all proceeds go towards the upkeep of DARG and the animals.

Due to space restrictions we have only published the individual list over the last two months. The individuals donation list will be updated every two months, but thanks to everyone else that has ever donated to DARG.


CAMPAIGNS

DARG runs regular campaigns and projects for which we could always use extra help. Here are our current projects:

  • Feral cat park (pilot project):  please click on the link to find more information on this exciting new pilot project that has just been launched. The project is headed up by June Bradbury, an advocate of feral cat colony work.
  • Wall of love: DARG are currently planning to build ’soundproof’ kennels as their current ones are very old and in dire need of repair. You can find out more information about this campaign and how you can help by clicking on the campaign name above.
  • National sterilisation programme: DARG is aiming to target local areas including the local informal settlement Imizamo Yethu, where poverty and neglected animals are widespread.
