Kitten Season has arrived and DARG needs your help!
We will be hosting a Kitty Shower (our feline version of a baby shower!) in hope of not only finding these babies wonderful forever homes, but also to raise much needed funds.
Come along and meet our kittens! If you cannot offer them a home, maybe you [...]
Being an expat’s wife and in Cape Town and here for only 3 years, it was difficult to find things to fill my days. When I found an ad for DARG in an old magazine, I knew this would be a great opportunity. Although I could never adopt a pet here since I couldn’t take [...]
When stray animals are handed in to DARG, we look after them for fourteen days, hoping their owners will find them and claim them. In order to make the process of finding them a bit easier, we’ve launched the new Stray Gallery.
This gallery will contain the strays we are currently looking after. After fourteen days, [...]
Hout Bay action group, P.E.T.S. (Pro-active Education, Treatment and Sterilization) is hosting another of their famously fantastic pub quiz nights at Pirates in Hout Bay!
All funds raised go directly towards the basic medical care and the sterilization of cats and dogs living in the two informal settlements of Hout Bay: Imizamo Yethu and Hangberg Village.

We found this poor pup emaciated and abused, and managed to rescue her in the nick of time. We’ve been feeding her up, and already she is looking much better.
Twixie is a female Alsation cross. She’s an incredibly sweet and gentle dog who loves human company as well as other dogs. She needs a foster [...]
Hello!
Jessica, a 15yr old female Pug (black) has just lost her home. She is confused and desperately needs to find a new home.
Despite her age, Jessica is lively, friendly, very cuddly and easy going. She just needs someone willing to provide her with a cosy bed and lots of kisses for the remainder of her [...]
Our beloved Spencer was only with us for a short time. He was rescued with mange and starving. He had the sweetest nature.
We were treating the mange, as well as giving him lots of chicken and treats and LOVE. He spent about 3 weeks with us, but sadly wasn’t getting better. He was taken to [...]
Thanks so much once more to Tracey Pace and the folks over at Polaris Capital. Your very generous donation of R5000 will go a long way towards helping out with all the running costs of DARG, including vets bills, medicine, shelter, and food.
We honestly can’t easily tell you how much this sort of generosity means [...]
Meet Storm, one of our Golden Oldies. She is a senior dog who was abandoned by her previous owner.
She’s on arthritis medication, and if she finds the right person to take her home, DARG is willing to help out in that area.
All she wants is cuddles, laps, a warm cosy cushion near the fireplace and [...]
When Mungo came in, he was dirty, had matted, irritated skin, and had a serious injury on his back leg where bone was exposed. Today, he’s clean, his leg has healed, he’s been groomed and is looking magnificent. Mungo is an adorable, bouncy, joyous little guy who loves life! He’d make a wonderful pet.
Check out [...]
Here’s a letter we received from Nicole, who is loving her new pup, feeds him dinosaur bones (by the looks of it!) and gives him lots of cuddles and attention…
“I recently (25th May) adopted Jorge, now named **GABRIEL** from you guys at DARG.
Here are some pictures of him now…. he’s the best doggy in the [...]

Dearest DARG.
Just a quick note to tell how happy our baby is. We adopted Alex (originally Jason) from DARG in August 2008. I am so happy to tell you that there [...]
We love it when people tell us how their adoptions are going, and this email was sent to us from Mike and Illana:
We collected Marley (aka Zelda) on Saturday 4th April 2009 from DARG in Hout Bay and on the way home thought that she was going to be quite a handful due to her [...]
This sweet, delicate, gentle, affectionate, hugable, kissable and quiet beauty is desperately looking for a temporary foster home, where she can offload her litter of puppies!
Yes, that’s right, Zita is currently heavily pregnant and needs to have somewhere she can be a mommy for the next couple of months. If you think you can provide [...]
