Success! Marley loves her new home!

We love it when people tell us how their adoptions are going, and this email was sent to us from Mike and Illana:

We collected Marley (aka Zelda) on Saturday 4th April 2009 from DARG in Hout Bay and on the way home thought that she was going to be quite a handful due to her zealous behaviour when we took her out of the kennels.

Needless to say we were we pleased when we got her home and bathed her to find that all she wanted was LOVE and in a big way.

She sleeps next to our bed on continental pillows and does not move all night, barring if she hears some movement and then she growls to let us know. She has fitted in exceptionally well and is an absolute pleasure in our home.

She was a bit timid initially on walks and I did not let her off the lead, but after one week I thought she would be fine with other people and dogs and every day I take her to the Green Belt in Constantia and she just loves it and all the other people and their dogs. We recently got her a play mate a Staffie Puppy and the two of them hit it off from day one and are the best of mates.

I would have no hesitation in getting another Staffie Cross from DARG as all they want is a bit of love – Marley gets lots and has landed with her bum in butter.  The reward one gets from getting such a dog is that they really appreciate being in a home and being loved and if one can give them that little thing then you will have a mate for life.
